Nolan Ryan Retiring As CEO

Shocking!

CBS Houston

Houston (CBS Houston)– Texas Rangers CEO Nolan Ryan announced Thursday that he will retire at the end of the month, October 31.

Ryan’s announcement comes after the Rangers loss to the Tampa Bay Rays in the postseason.

The Houston Astros released a statement from the President of Business Operations Reid Ryan, who happens to be Ryan’s son.

“As his son, I am extremely proud of what he has accomplished as both a player and as a front office executive,” Ryan said, “He was an integral part of all three of the World Series appearances by Texas teams, in 2005 with the Astros and in 2010-11 with the Rangers. He has always treated the game with dignity and respect and has appreciated those that make our game great: the fans, players and employees.”
